Located in Sicily's beautiful and largely undiscovered south, here's a guide to the alluring towns of Menfi and Favara.
As we unveil our brand-new brochure for the 2018 holiday season, we're getting more and more excited about the impressive new properties we've added to our programme. With these new properties also come new destinations, and we're delighted to be allowing our customers the chance to discover them.
Two new destinations we're delving into are Menfi and Favara, located in Southern Sicily and boasting rich cultural and natural characteristics. We've decided to put together a mini guide to both of these destinations, giving our customers a flavour of what to expect during a stay in these locations.
Considered one of Italy's finest and leading 'wine towns', crafting some magnificent products from its rolling vineyards and olive groves, Menfi is a true gem of Southern Sicily. In addition to its superb wine, best sampled during a stay at La Foresteria Planeta Estate, Menfi is also famous for its coastline. Awarded the European Union Blue banner for quality, Menfi boasts a number of fine beaches, ensuring you can combine your wine tasting experience with a flavour of the sun, sand and sea.

Favara, a town of Arab origin, is dominated by its stunning 18th-century Church of Rosario, defined by its blue-tiled dome and impressive interior. Favara is also home to the Farm Cultural Park, an art gallery and exhibition space set at the heart of its historic centre, while the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Valley of the Temples, is just a stone's throw away. A stay at the impressive Alba Palace Hotel will provide the perfect base for exploring Southern Sicily and the town of Favara.
