If you’re after an exciting day out which the children will love, then make sure you head down to the Madonie Adventure Park. Located in the Madonie Nature Reserve just south of Cefalù, you can experience everything from horse riding and orienteering, to archery and treetop adventures (Madonie Adventure Park is located around 40km from the Acacia Resort).

We simply couldn’t talk about things to do in Sicily without picking out some of our favourite beaches. If you love nothing more than to relax on fine golden sand whilst the children splash about in the shallows, dig holes and build sand castles, then Sicily is a strong contender. Just a few to consider are:
Mondello Beach: close to Palermo, boasting rather fine golden sand along with good facilities.
San Vito Lo Capo: in the north west of the island with beautiful blue, clear water and fantastic mountainous views to match.
Mazzaro Bay: Located in Taormina Mare, this pebbly beach boasts spectacular views and azure waters. It’s also ideal for snorkelers or divers.
Fontane Bianche: located in Syracuse, this beach has crystal clear water, a gently sloping seabed and an ideal location to do a spot of snorkelling.
